WRVS Kirklees Healthy Eating

What is Kirklees Healthy Eating?
The project is funded by NHS Kirklees and aims at raising health awareness through training sessions, fruit & veg schemes, providing healthy to cook-2-eat and taster sessions that people can replicate at home and an allotment/pot planting session. Much of the project involves engaging volunteers at all stages and we are always looking for new faces!

How you can get involved..........
If there are any schools, luncheon clubs, SureStart centres or community groups that are interested in our schemes and sessions we would like to hear from you!!

Women’s Royal Voluntary Services (WRVS) has some funding and might be able to invest in supporting your group.

Working with Batley Resource Centre

As the project aims to cover much of North Kirklees and some of the South, Batley Resource Centre has proved to be a good central location with easy accessibility for myself and volunteers. The Resource Centre has a number of different groups working within the Centre and some good contacts have been made with the added bonus of making more links with outside agencies. Some training courses have been organised by the Centre and this allows a degree of personal development.

If you would like to discuss the project further or would like to do some volunteering please contact Batley Resource Centre and ask for Fazila Aswat.

Our physiotherapists are governed by a strict code of ethics and they are all members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and are HPC registered. Before any action is taken the physiotherapist will assess your
condition, diagnose the problem and help you to understand what is wrong. They
will work with you to develop an effective treatment and will include advice on
how to help yourself, for example with exercises. We may also use manipulation and mobilisations to reduce pain and stiffness, electrotherapy such as ultrasound, to speed up the healing process and acupuncture can also be used. You do not need a doctor's referral and can simply phone the clinic to make an appointment.
